MSI is Excited to Announce a Partnership with Fieldstone Farm

Fieldstone Farm is one of the largest and most respected therapeutic riding centers in the country. Since their founding more than 40 years ago, they have helped thousands of people of all ages and with all types of challenges achieve what they thought was unachievable.

Their instructors are highly trained and certified by PATH International, the association governing the therapeutic riding industry. They are passionate about working with people with special needs and helping them experience the therapeutic power of horses. These staff members, who are all volunteers, undergo extensive training to understand the diverse challenges facing people who have disabilities.

Fieldstone offers several different types of programs to meet each individual needs and interest. They offer these programs year-round. Each session addresses individual and group goals.

Therapeutic Riding – The riding lessons are delivered by PATH International certified instructors and incorporate a wide range of therapeutic goals into each session. Individuals ride weekly in small groups of three or four students.

Hippotherapy – Hippotherapy uses the movement of the horse to achieve therapeutic goals as a part of physical, occupational or speech treatment. Hippotherapy sessions are conducted by a licensed therapist who is also certified by the American Hippotherapy Association. Fieldstone Farm partners with Galvin Therapy Center to deliver pediatric physical therapy sessions.

Carriage Driving – Students learn a variety of skills while navigating our wheelchair accessible, horse-drawn carriages with the help of a trained volunteer and PATH International certified instructor.

Barn and Classroom Programs – Fieldstone Farm offers a wide range of programming that, depending on the class, addresses emotional wellness, socialization, leadership skills, teamwork and horsemanship skills.

MSI., Inc. has been extremely fortunate to partner with Fieldstone Farms for specialized programming and volunteering opportunities for the individuals we serve in vocational and day programming

On September 23rd, six individuals will be participating in the non-riding ground program. The participants learn how to properly and safely groom, tack up and lead a horse. They then work together leading the horse thru and around obstacles in the indoor arena. The individuals focus on teamwork, communications skills, socialization skills, leadership and emotional wellness.

The sessions are every Wednesday from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm for eight weeks. MSI., was fortunate to have applied for and granted a scholarship, which paid for nearly 100% of the participants tuition.

As an agency, we are so fortunate to have this world class facility so close to us. We are so excited to continue this partnership for years to come.
