MSI Severe Weather Procedures.

Dear individuals, family members and providers,

I wanted to inform you of Metzenbaum Sheltered Industries, (MSI‘s) severe weather procedures for our transportation and day programs. Please note that this procedure affects any individual attending the MSI day programs listed below:

Chesterland Area– includes the Metzenbaum Workshop, Rescue Village, Dept. On Aging cleaning crew, EGC and Ohio Travel Bag.

Middlefield Area– includes the Special Hands Shoppe, GIP, Choices, DDC Clinic, Mobile Production Unit, Shiffler, Eddy’s Fruit Farm and the MSI Discovery Center in Burton.

Please continue to monitor local radio stations and T.V. stations, Channel 5, Channel 19 and Fox 8. for any program adjustments.* Please note that the information given to T.V. and radio stations is often delayed.  You can also receive updates on MSI’s website at:

For all weather related program changes, you will hear or see the following messages:

MSI Closed — This means all transportation routes and day and evening programs are closed for the entire day.

MSI Open No Transportation – This means all day and evening programs are open, but individuals must provide their own transportation both to and from their program in order to attend for the day.

MSI 2 Hour Delay – This means that all morning transportation routes and program hours will run 2 Hours later that normal times.  On these days, all afternoon transportation routes and program hours will run according to the normal scheduled times.
